Website design and branding for the UK’s first digital advertising network in student halls.
Target Student is an innovative advertising business connecting brands with the student market in the comfort of their own homes.
Their large touch screen digital displays in receptions and lobbies have reached a network of 27,000+ students in 16 towns and cities in just 6 months since their launch.
The guys at Target Student came to us pre launch needing branding and a website to support their business to business operations. The biggest challenge was to create an identity that would strike the perfect balance between being professional but also still fun and quirky enough to represent their end user. They needed a clear branding kit and logo, website and wider material such as sales decks to engage stakeholders. Creating a consistent identity they could be proud of was important, and using this to drive traffic to their website.
The timeline was also a challenge, as Target Student had to work to the academic calendar to be able to launch in September, ready for students to arrive in halls.
The brand needed to represent the target demographic, so we used bold, bright colours and shapes to create confident but youthful designs. We wanted the client to feel engaged with the student lifestyle, and we created an energetic aesthetic using dynamic lines and large text to reflect this.
The logo plays off the idea of a target but is also tech-inspired and split up into geometric shapes. Curated with the Gen Z audience in mind, we knew from our experience with The Bunch that a loud, vibrant aesthetic could work wonders for brands in the student services sector.
We also divided the website clearly by the key stakeholders, accommodation providers and advertisers, to centre users and signpost them toward the correct place.
The result is a confident and striking brand that carves itself a well deserved place in the student market. For the team, this has been invaluable in building confidence both internally and externally, and given them the resources to be able to go out and pitch effectively to stakeholders. The website has made their customer journey easier, and sales decks have made their proposals stronger and smoother. With all of the clients they have landed, visually engaging sales decks and the website has undoubtedly been a factor.
