Design for Good grant to support local charities and non-profits
We’re pleased to announce that our Design for Good grant, in partnership with Voscur and City Funds, is now open for applications.
At Garrett Creative, we believe in using our creative skills as a force for positive change. To help realise this mission we’ve recently set up a ‘Design for Good’ grant programme to support the local charities and non-profits that are working tirelessly towards positive social or environmental change.
There’s a huge amount of amazing work going on in our local third sector, but it doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. We’re really passionate about the impact local charities have in our community and helping those organisations develop brands and marketing campaigns that match the quality of the incredible work they’re doing.
Our design for good ethos initially stemmed from a volunteering project that our founder, Ed, was part of with the UWE, but this design for good mission has now spread across all of our work, even within business and the music industry. We believe in intuitive design shaped by the needs of the user – accessibility, inclusivity and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.
The type of creative work provided by the grant will be tailored to the needs of the charities and will be offered from across our three service areas – Brand Design, Website Design and Digital & Print.
We’ve partnered with two other incredible organisations to deliver the scheme. Voscur, who support Bristol’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in order to help improve the quality of life for the people of Bristol, and City Funds bring together the public and private sectors through investment, grant-funding and pro bono support to make Bristol a fair, healthy and sustainable city. What unites us all? We all love Bristol, and want to help you to help others in the city and beyond.
The positive testimonial we received from our pilot scheme speaks for itself:
‘We came to Garrett Creative through the ‘Design for Good’ initiative with an introduction from the Quartet Community Foundation (City Funds). The creative team listened well to our description of the project and were clearly as excited by its potential as we were. They got under the skin of our aims, understood quickly what we were trying to achieve and translated that into a brand that really fits the bill. Working with the team was a pleasure – they were fast, efficient, friendly and flexible – and the result is everything we’d hoped it would be.’
Steve Sayers, Chief Executive at Hartcliffe City Farm
We aim to release 4 grants annually with the combined value of £10,000 in Bristol and the surrounding area. The applications for this pro-bono support will be accepted periodically throughout the year and reviewed approximately every 13 weeks upon completion of work for the previously selected applicants.
Applications for the first round of support are open now and will close on the 1st December 2021 – so if you’re a third-sector organisation and think you would benefit from the programme, please visit garrettcreative.co.uk/design-for-good/grant-funding to apply.
We can’t wait to hear about all the inspiring work you’re doing and how we can help.
