This was a fascinating piece of work. I designed the digital release artwork and 12” vinyl labels, in addition to that I designed and hand printed a set of limited-edition record sleeves using silk screen.
The brief was to create a series of striking yet minimal images that could be used for the release project across print and digital media. The release features a compilation of tracks that Run Tingz published the previous year in 2018, the artwork concept comes from the position of recycling music and the colours represent the classic red, yellow and green associated with Reggae culture which is intrinsic to the label’s sound.
The core design went through a number of revisions, the final version ended up looking relatively minimal compared to the first draft which enabled the concept to pop through. This was stripped back even further for the vinyl manufacturing which looks fantastic as you can see in the product image above.
The sleeve design is an extension of the branding work that was done for RUN TINGZ TV in late 2018. Other work included social media assets and copy writing for the project’s press release.
