A message from our founder...

Dear friends, family and fellow business owners, I hope you and your teams are well.

We’re pleased to (finally) share our new newsletter with you! As you may know, our business is fuelled by our passion and commitment to helping people have a positive impact on the world. Through this newsletter, we hope to connect with you on a more regular basis, share our expertise and celebrate positive news. Our team has been working to collect news, events, design tips, creative inspiration and industry updates, alongside their own thoughts and interests for the month.

Our big news is that we’re in the process of rebranding and relaunching the business. We’ve outgrown our current brand and website so watch this space more will be revealed over the next couple of months.

We hope you find this information interesting and useful, we welcome any feedback you may have.

Good luck with everything you’re doing and speak soon!

Green tech represents a huge opportunity and a challenge for start-ups. Despite the collaborative nature of the industry, we are in the attention economy, more and more businesses are competing for customers so how do you stand out from the crowd?

Having a brand that cuts through all the noise, communicates effectively and represents your remarkable work and impact is essential, so we’ve compiled our thoughts and practical advice on the subject in a blog titled: How to leverage your brand to increase awareness (Pt.1 Green Tech).

News from the team:

The team has had a busy couple of months, welcoming Miya, our Marketing Assistant, and Paco, our Animation intern, who’s doing an excellent job creating motion content.

We’re thrilled that our work with Hawkspring, the ‘Design for Good’ grant winners, is officially underway, with workshops set up for their brand and website redesign. The Future Leap Festival for sustainable business was a notable highlight of the summer, providing an opportunity to connect with incredible sustainable businesses and collaborate on a hybrid poster campaign for Termex. Ed also attended the “Thinking Differently about Digital Sustainability” event hosted by Green Tech South West, where Hannah Smith delivered an exceptional presentation on sustainability in the tech industry.

Work from the studio: CEPRO

Our work with CEPRO helped them to build a brand that could stand the test of time; reflecting their current identity but also capturing the vision of who they aspire to be. By creating an engaging visual persona and brand kit – a sense of excitement, cohesion and trust was achieved both internally and externally. The efforts put into this proved vital in growing their team and creating a strong application for a national grant which resulted in critical investment funding.

Think Global, Act Local...

Carbon neutrality agendas are taking centre stage in cities worldwide, and a whole host of challenges have arisen. Osborne Clark commissioned the Economist Impact, to investigate some of the efforts taking place in Barcelona, Delhi, and Paris, and made insightful findings into the groundbreaking green technology that is keeping net zero targets attainable. If you are interested in finding our more about innovation within the green tech space, read the whole PDF here.

Bristol recently launched its own returnable coffee cup scheme? The Refill Return Cup by City to Sea is the first-of-its-kind returnable coffee cup found in independent coffee outlets across Bristol. We’ve all been guilty of forgetting our reusable mugs, however the Refill app allows you to enjoy the benefits and avoid single use cups even if you don’t have or remember your own. The scheme promotes greener habits amongst all coffee (or tea) enthusiasts, helping the city break up with single-use one cup at a time. Their cups have been met with glowing reviews from our team so try it yourself and find out more here.

Dates For the Diary:

Solutions for the Planet:

We hold great admiration for the work being done by Digilocal, a Bristol based charity offering a long term solution to inequalities within the tech industry. Digilocal is actively addressing this issue by supporting marginalised children as young as 8 years old to identify and cultivate their digital talents, thereby tackling the barriers to social mobility within the tech industry (BBC Article explaining this issue further).

The establishment and success of tech clubs in communities heavily rely on the generosity of donations and volunteers. If you have a passion for technology and are willing to spare just one hour per week, they are actively seeking volunteers. Regardless of your level of experience in the tech field, they provide ample guidance and resources to support you along the way. Additionally, donations play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of their services. If you are interested in getting involved, please find further details here.

In our spare time:

In today’s ever-evolving tech landscape, one buzzword that stands out is AI (Artificial Intelligence). The rapid growth of AI technologies is hard to miss, but what does this mean for businesses and charities like yours? Could it be the key to addressing global challenges and unlocking new solutions for our planet? Recently, our marketing intern, Miya, introduced us to the thought-provoking podcast: Diary of a CEO with Mo Gawdat, which helped to answer some of these questions and more.
